RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

DORM LIFE AND ROOMMATES

In VIA's community, the "out of the classroom" education is important to all of us. There is more to your room than a place to sleep. You are learning from your roommates, your neighbors, and the rest of the students. You are also in a tight-knit community that involves dedicated staff and faculty members that reside in the hall. These staff and faculty members will enrich your college experience with educational programs, exciting activities, and a supportive environment outside of the normal classroom learning. This aspect of the community allows many students to grow as individuals and to thrive in our community. As a community, everyone shares in making the environment one in which the residents can sleep and study, as well as have fun. With the assistance of the staff, you can help in making your living area a place to be proud of.

RESIDENCE LIFE STAFF

The residence halls are supervised by full-time professionals who manage the buildings, and whose efforts are aimed at making the most of your living experience at VIA. The staff's most important role is to help you and your neighbors create a safe and healthy community. They formally and informally educate residents about community development and assist in maintaining a cooperative atmosphere where groups of students with different lifestyles co-exist. They are also responsible for communicating and enforcing policies. Get to know the staff, he or she is a great resource for the community.

DINING SERVICES

Campus Dining Services are managed by Sodexho USA. They feature a healthy and environmentally-friendly dining program. A variety of organic, hormone-free, and healthy products are provided, including:

  • - Hormone-free poultry, beef and pork that are grain-fed and free of antibiotics
      and unnecessary preservatives
  • - Certified organic produce, locally grown where possible, with seasonal
      exceptions as requested
  • - House-made desserts, cookies, and pastries
  • - Organic cheeses, whole eggs, oils, spices, flour, granola, tofu, soy milk, and
      other vegetarian ingredients
VIA Student Activities
