FROM THE HEAD COUNSELORWelcome to Valley International Academy! My name is Nicole Michna and I am very excited about getting to know each of you as we reach your goals and dreams. I believe that every student has special talents and my job is to help you find and develop them through our in-depth college counseling program, a rigorous academic program, and the Life in Training entrepreneurial and advocacy series. One of my passions is creating opportunities for students to flourish. That said, my goal is to help you gain developmental and leadership experiences in academics, arts, athletics, service learning, and environmentalism while fostering your natural talent and abilities. VIA provides many opportunities for you to apply your knowledge and skills to real life, enhancing your VIA experience. From inter-cultural experiences to entrepreneurial ventures, our experienced teachers will offer a unique platform for you to grow and learn. You will benefit from small class sizes and specialized guidance from experienced faculty while developing as community citizens and passionate, lifelong learners. VIA provides exceptional support starting from the moment students enter our community. I am excited to walk you through every step of the college and university admissions process. Our program supports you by preparing for and reviewing high school grades, class choices, test scores, extracurricular activities, resumes, and writing samples. We discuss a variety of post-VIA options, including the college application process, internship opportunities, financial support, and testing choices. Our goal is to ensure that you have the confidence and independence to choose the college or university that best matches your goals, aspirations, and talents.
